Content Hub Settings - Color Themes
Color Themes define the palette that Publishers apply to Slides, Article Slides, Lock Screens, and Wallpapers at content-creation time. Each theme stores eight color values — Primary, Secondary, Surface, Background, and a readable text color for each — from which Content Hub automatically derives Light and Dark variants.
Admins manage the available themes from Settings → Appearance → Color Themes; Publishers choose a theme from the Design panel when building a Slide.
By default, ten themes are available (Black, Blue, DHL, Green, Netpresenter, Orange, Pink, Purple, Red, Yellow). You can edit existing themes, add new ones, import themes from a file, and export themes for reuse across tenants.
Prerequisites
- Account Type: System Administrator.
- No external system access is required.
Procedure
Step 1 — Open Color Themes
In the Settings left navigation, expand Appearance and select Color Themes.

The Color Themes list opens. Each row shows a two-color swatch (Primary and Secondary colors) and the theme name. By default, 10 themes are listed.

Use the Find a Color Theme search box or the Sort by dropdown (default: Name) to locate a specific theme.
Step 2 — Create a new Color Theme
- Select Add new in the top-right.
- The Edit Color Theme form opens. Enter a Name (required).
- Fill in the eight color fields under Colors (see the Reference table below for what each field controls).
- Use the Preview panel on the right to verify the result — switch between the SCHEMATIC tab (color palette view with auto-derived Light and Dark variants) and the TEMPLATE tab (live template preview with a Select a template dropdown).
- Select Save changes.

Pro tip: Use the TEMPLATE tab to spot contrast issues before saving. Choose the template your team uses most from the dropdown and verify that text is readable against each background color.
Step 3 — Edit an existing Color Theme
- Hover over a theme row to reveal the inline actions on the right.
- Select the Edit icon (pencil).
- Update the Name or any color values.
- Check the Preview panel — changes reflect immediately.
- Select Save changes.

Heads up: Changes to a Color Theme take effect immediately for all new content. Existing published Slides that use this theme will also reflect the updated colors the next time they are rendered on a Slide Player.
Step 4 — Export a Color Theme
Hover over a theme row and select the Export icon (download). The theme is saved as a file to your local machine. Use this to back up a theme before editing or to copy it to another tenant.
Step 5 — Import a Color Theme
- Select Import in the top-right of the Color Themes page.
- Choose the theme file from your local machine (exported from Content Hub).
- The imported theme appears in the list immediately.
Important: Importing a theme with the same name as an existing theme may overwrite or duplicate it — verify the name after import.
Step 6 — Delete a Color Theme
- Hover over a theme row and select the Delete icon (trash).
- Confirm the deletion.
Important: Deleting a Color Theme is irreversible. Slides that were built using the deleted theme will fall back to the default colors defined by the template. Export the theme first if you may need to restore it.
Verification
After saving a new or updated theme, open the Slide editor as a Publisher (or in a test account) and check the Color Theme dropdown in the Design panel. The new or updated theme should appear there by name.
